Crab Feed FAQs

Q: What is the Crab Feed?
The Clovis Rotary Crab Feed is the largest fundraiser held by and for the Clovis Rotary Club. We also enlist the help of our six high school Interact Clubs to get students involved in volunteer activities and the community. The Crab Feed boasts having the freshest crab dinner complete with entrees. Festivities feature a live auction with a professional auctioneer and a silent auction filled to the brim with rare finds and gifts and a mouth watering dessert auction.

Q: Where is the Crab Feed?
The Clovis Rotary Crab Feed is held at the Clovis Veteran’s Memorial District in the heart of Old Town Clovis.

Q: Where do the proceeds go?
The profits from the Crab Feed help fund the various club activities and foreign exchange programs. Tips at the table are distributed to the high school Interact Clubs whose members served tables at this event. It is notable that 100% of your donations go to the activities as there are no paid staff at the club level.

Q: When is the Crab Feed?
The Clovis Rotary Crab Feed is a once a year event. It is held annually on the last Saturday in February (when the crab is freshest)!

Q: What is the Live Auction?
The Live Auction takes place in the ballroom after dinner. A professional auctioneer announces the items to be sold and those at tables can bid freely on these items with the help of Rotarians standing by. Past items have included a helicopter ride with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department, a luxurious day on a private yacht, ski resort accomodations, vacations at exotic venues, catered dinners for 12, a weekend in a private home at the coast, and much, much more. The Live Auction is a high energy event.

Q: What is the Silent Auction?
The Silent Auction will be held in a large room with a hosted bar for your enjoyment. The silent auction features hundreds of quality items including: paintings, collectibles, autographed jerseys, prints and photos, plus a wide selection of other desirable items. In a traditional manner tables will close a few at a time. Guests can browse over hundreds of quality items or gift certificates while enjoying their favorite beverage.

Q: How do I obtain tickets to the Crab Feed?
Tickets can be purchased as early as November 1 and continue until sold out and yes, we always sell out. We recommend purchasing your tickets well in advance. There are three options: individual tickets, tables of 8 or sponsor tables of 8. Tickets can be purchased online or directly from any member of Clovis Rotary.

Q: How can make sure I’m seated at the same table as my friends?
If you mail a check for payment of your tickets include a note with the names of others in your party and ask to be seated at the same table. If paying online fill in the box on the registration form with the names of others in your party.

Q: How can I donate items to the Live or Silent Auction?
Any member of Clovis Rotary will kindly accept your item. You can use the Contact Us page to provide your information and arrange for the item to be picked up. Thanks!

Q: What’s for dinner?
Crab is brought in fresh from the coast the day of the Crab Feed and served cracked-in-the-shell. And yes, it’s all-you-can-eat Crab served with melted butter, lemons, cocktail sauce, along with the ever popular “Crab Bibs”. For those who don’t eat seafood, tri tip is available upon request. The dinner also includes pasta, green salad, and rolls.

Q: How do I become a Clovis Rotary member or a volunteer?
